Visa Application Consultancy for Foreigners

The right visa type, a complete file, a strong justification

The type of visa required for entry into Türkiye varies according to the foreign national's nationality, purpose of travel and length of stay. Tourist, business, work, student, family visit and medical treatment visas each require different sets of documents and different supporting justification.

A significant proportion of refusals in visa applications stem from the purpose of travel not being supported by documents and from inconsistencies within the document set. At BKT we determine the type of visa that matches the purpose of your application, prepare the invitation and accommodation documents, and complete the sworn translation of foreign-language paperwork.

Who is it for?

  • Foreign nationals coming to Türkiye for tourism or a family visit
  • Business people obtaining a business visa for a trade fair, meeting or business discussion
  • Those who have received a job offer from an employer in Türkiye and will apply for a work visa
  • Students who have received a letter of acceptance and will apply for a student visa
  • Companies preparing an invitation letter for a foreign business partner or member of staff
  • Those whose visa application has previously been refused and who wish to strengthen their file

Required documents

The list below is for a typical case. Additional documents may be requested depending on your nationality, the type of application and the practice of the relevant authority; the definitive list is given to you in writing at the initial consultation.

  • A passport with sufficient validity and a biometric photograph
  • Application form and appointment document
  • Documents relating to the purpose of travel (invitation letter, letter of acceptance, employment contract)
  • Accommodation and return ticket reservation
  • Bank statement evidencing financial means
  • Travel health insurance
  • Sworn translation of the foreign-language documents

The process step by step

  1. 1

    Determining the type of visa

The correct type of visa to apply for is determined according to nationality, purpose and length of stay.

  2. 2

    Preparing the document set

The invitation, accommodation and income documents are drawn up; gaps and inconsistencies are remedied.

  3. 3

    Translation and certification

The sworn translation and, where required, notarisation of foreign-language documents is carried out.

  4. 4

    Appointment and application

An appointment is obtained at the consulate or application centre and the file is submitted.

  5. 5

    Following the outcome

The outcome of the application is monitored; in the event of a refusal, a reapplication strategy is built around the grounds given.

Common mistakes

  • Applying with a type of visa that does not match the purpose of travel
  • Preparing the invitation letter incompletely as to content and signature
  • Submitting a bank statement with a balance that does not cover the travel costs
  • A mismatch between the reservation documents and the dates declared
  • Reapplying with the same file without examining the grounds of the previous refusal

Legal basis

Visa Application Consultancy for Foreign Nationals — frequently asked questions

My visa application was refused, can I apply again straight away?

A new application is possible; however, applications made without remedying the grounds for refusal usually meet the same outcome. The reason for the refusal must first be read correctly and the file strengthened in that direction.

Who should prepare the invitation letter?

The invitation is prepared by the host individual or company in Türkiye. Business invitations should clearly set out the company details and the subject of the meeting, and personal invitations the host's status and their undertaking as to accommodation.

Can I work in Türkiye on a visa?

A tourist or business visa does not confer a right to work. In order to work, a work permit must be obtained and the associated work visa process carried out.

Are the visa period and the period of stay the same thing?

No. A visa confers authorisation to enter the country; the period of stay is limited to the number of days and the period stated on the visa. Confusing this distinction is one of the most common causes of visa violations.

Is a letter of acceptance required for a student visa?

For a study visa, the acceptance or enrolment document issued by the educational institution in Türkiye is the fundamental basis. Applications made without this document are not taken into assessment.

What do we provide in this process?

With lawyer support

On cases that call for legal assessment — appeals, administrative proceedings and refusal decisions — we work together with a lawyer.

We state plainly which law and regulation each service rests on: Laws No. 6735, 6458 and 5901 and the related implementing rules.

Transparency on process and fees

Before we begin, the document list, the steps, a realistic time expectation and the total fee are shared in writing.
