Since 1994
BKT was founded in 1994 by Ahmet Taşer, a sworn translator for German; for more than thirty years it has worked in the same field, in sworn translation and consultancy for foreign nationals.
The office is run by its founder Ahmet Taşer (sworn translator for German) together with English translator Burak Kaan Taşer. Your case stays with the same team from start to finish; it does not change hands between translation and consultancy.
Why do we provide both services together?
Almost every procedure a foreign national faces has two sides: on one, the correct application the legislation requires; on the other, the paperwork that holds that application up. In practice, a significant share of cases come back not because of a legal obstacle, but because of a document without its apostille, a translation that skipped notarisation, or a name spelled differently from the passport.
When consultancy and translation are brought together in one place, that risk largely disappears. Within the same case, name spellings, institution names and date formats stay consistent; it is known from the outset which document needs which level of certification; and you do not have to go elsewhere for the paperwork.
Our working principles
We do not promise outcomes, we explain the likelihood
Permit and status applications involve the administration's discretion. No one can guarantee that an application will be accepted. What we do is assess your case against the relevant criteria and tell you plainly its strengths and weaknesses, and remedy the shortcomings that can be fixed before you apply.
We show you the legislation
On every service page we state the law and regulation the procedure rests on. Every condition we pass on to you has a basis, and we will show you that basis on request.
We set out the fee and the timescale in writing from the start
After the initial consultation, the document list, the steps, a realistic time expectation and the total fee are shared in writing. Official fees and notary costs are shown as separate items; no unexpected item appears during the process.
Where legal assessment is needed, we work with a lawyer
On cases that require legal assessment — appealing a deportation decision, lifting an entry ban, bringing administrative proceedings against a refusal — we proceed together with a lawyer's support. We state clearly where consultancy ends and legal representation begins.
One point of contact
Your case is assigned to one person in charge. You do not have to explain the situation from scratch every time you call.
Who do we serve?
Foreign nationals living and working in Turkey, employers who employ foreign staff, students studying in Turkey, foreign investors planning investment and company formation, and Turkish citizens preparing documents for use abroad. Our office is in Istanbul; because most applications are handled electronically, we accept clients from every province in Turkey.
Languages
In our translation and escort interpreting services we work in widely used languages, principally English, Arabic, Russian, Persian, German and French. We confirm the language pair you need during the consultation.
