Commercial and Corporate Translation

Corporate translation that keeps your brand voice and consistent terms

In corporate texts, translation is not only the transfer of information but also the carrying over of a brand's voice. When a company's contract, catalogue and website do not use the same terms and the same register, the other party loses confidence.

At BKT we build a terminology glossary for our corporate clients and adhere to it across all work. Contracts and financial documents are governed by literal accuracy, while promotional texts are governed by language that reads naturally in the target market.

Who is it for?

  • Companies engaged in export and import
  • Businesses presenting quotations and contracts to foreign customers
  • Brands needing catalogue, promotional and website translation
  • Companies having financial statements and audit reports translated
  • Organisations corresponding with foreign partners and investors
  • Firms preparing tender documents

Required documents

The list below is for a typical case. Additional documents may be requested depending on your nationality, the type of application and the practice of the relevant authority; the definitive list is given to you in writing at the initial consultation.

  • The text or file to be translated
  • Any corporate terminology glossary and previous translations
  • Target market and language
  • The official spelling of brand and product names
  • Preferred delivery format

The process step by step

  1. 1

    Defining the scope

The type of text, the target market and the delivery format are clarified.

  2. 2

    Terminology glossary

A list of equivalents is drawn up for brand, product and sector terms.

  3. 3

    Translation

The translation is produced in a register suited to the type of text.

  4. 4

    Check

Terminological consistency and numerical data are checked in a second reading.

  5. 5

    Delivery

Delivered in the requested format; the glossary is retained for future work.

Common mistakes

  • Giving each job to a different translator and losing terminological consistency
  • Trying to translate product and brand names
  • Not converting decimal and thousands separators in financial statements
  • Giving no thought at all to search visibility in website translation
  • Leaving contract annexes outside the scope

Commercial and corporate translation — frequently asked questions

Do you prepare the terminology glossary?

Yes. On the first job we build a glossary specific to your sector and brand, and we adhere to it in all subsequent work.

What is taken into account in website translation?

As well as the text reading naturally, choosing headings and terms that match search habits in the target language matters. In that respect we treat translation differently from a plain rendering.

Is a sworn translation required for financial documents?

It is mostly required for documents to be submitted to official authorities or to foreign partners. We determine this together according to the intended use.

How is delivery planned for high-volume work?

For large files a phased delivery plan is drawn up, so that your work is not put on hold.

Do you provide a confidentiality undertaking?

Yes, for corporate work we sign a confidentiality agreement on request.

What do we provide in this process?

With lawyer support

On cases that call for legal assessment — appeals, administrative proceedings and refusal decisions — we work together with a lawyer.

Grounded in the legislation

We state plainly which law and regulation each service rests on: Laws No. 6735, 6458 and 5901 and the related implementing rules.

Transparency on process and fees

Before we begin, the document list, the steps, a realistic time expectation and the total fee are shared in writing.

One point of contact

Your case is assigned to one person; you speak to the same individual at every stage and follow the process from a single place.

Let us assess your case

You do not need to have your documents to hand; describing your current situation is enough for the first step.
